Well I like how the sticks or twigs I'm not sure what they'd be classified as, are cupping her face, I also like how she's not looknig directly at you, makes you wonder what's going on in her woods.

well, it's a large branch that has been disentegrating for a long time... i don't think it'd be called twigs, but i don't know what to call it!

well she doesn't seem angry it's kind of a neutral expression, like she's making sure what ever person or animal that is walking through her woods isn't a threat.

As a surrealist would say "i love the beauty of the simultaneously juxtaposed union of a delicate child embraced within the menace of mother earth looking forth to see what we think of it..."...in short its a magnificently composed picture!!!

the branches do have a kind of violent energy, don't they? it's part of what i really like about how this picture looks, but i couldn't quite figure it out until you put words to it. the energy is cutting, but she is uncut.

Oh, could be, thoughts are not single, man at opposite sites of the planet could have the same thought in the same time.

i think certain things, like the idea of magic and running through the trees, flying and being animals and more closely related to nature... these are all part of us on an instinctual level. we've only been domesticated for 40,000 years, after all.
i used to always hear a beautiful high-pitched woman's voice in my mind when i was a child, singing a note, an "aaahhh". i've never heard any human voice that comes to that level of perfection, but when i hear something close, i always think of that magic...

firstly the manip is fantastic.
she has a sad look in her eyes and the way in which the earth is framing her face gives a sense of comfort. the colour of the eyes also heightens the sadness
