Description In remeberance of my Grandmother. She just passed away. 2/6/2011

I made this as a gift for my grandparents. The cranes are known as Sand Hill Cranes (which are everywhere in Flordia). I took photos of these cranes during a visit and my grandparents wanted a painting, so tada .

Speed painting of roughly 2-3 hours, all in one seating (very rare for me to do anything in one sitting, so personal achievement for me, yea).

Photoshop with Wacom

Everything is mine: I tookthe photos of the cranes and of the sky background.

:EDIT:
I spent a little more time on the heads of the cranes to get more detail into them, since that's the focus area, before I ship it out to my grandparents. I think it's a greater improvement. That's pretty much the main thing I edited.

HI!!! So you got an account, cool Yea, I'm making this on a printed canvas so that it looks and feel slike a real painting for the Grandparents. I'm having to change it alittle becasue the printer people said I need a 2 inch border on all sides so they could wrap the canvas around a wodden frame. And 2 inches is alot, plus they are booked up at the moment, which gives me more time to work on the details in the Cranes heads, I don't know why, but the top head looks a little washed out from the lighting, so I must going to boost his deatils to stand out alittle more. So, I'll be uploading the updated version soon, ad it's huge! 20in x 24in inches to print a 16in x 20in on canvas. And it's 300dip, so it's crisp and sharp. Heehee.

Very beautiful gift and painting! You've got their coloring and shape perfectly! Just FYI, they're called Sand Hill Cranes and they mate for life. What's interesting is their wonderful courtship dance. Very elegant... (The reason I know about them are, I live in Florida and these lovely birds are in abundance).

Thnks

Ah. Well I was almost right about the name. Yea, they are all over Flordia, the pair I took a picture of come by my Grandparents place all the time because of a lake behind their place, and because my Grandpa feeds them corn feed (I think, I never asked him what he feed them) so I was able to get pretty close to take the photos. Very beautiful birds.

You're very welcomed! You've painted them perfectly and today I was delighted to see a group of Sand Hills crossing a road....I thought of your painting...
