This is the first of several pics I'm gonna post, but they need to be collected first. So, unfortunately, you don't get a good look at the costume... but...[link] has the skit. Unfortunately, it's not a very good version since it's from in the audience... but it's the audio that counts...

I don't know if I'm gonna be able to make it because practically half of our staff either quit or will be out of town on Labor Day weekend. Unless I receive an offer I can't refuse, I'll be able to come on Sunday with Jessie since I need like 9001 pics of that wig (needs so many repairs D= ). But I can't make Saturday evening and the cosplay contest.

you guys were so amazing. by far the best team rocket I've ever seen. I mean, just look at it! you actually did Jesse's hair! No one ever does that; they just spray it the right color and say it's done. But man, you went all out.
And your voices were so accurate that it was kind of creepy. I didn't get to see it live cause I had to leave akon early for something, but I saw the skit online and you guys were awesome

hehe, thanks! We tried very hard with the voices, to be honest. James could do the voice already (and had been doing so during the entire time we were working) and Ash is an aspiring voice actress who was watching as many episodes as possible to get the voice right. I was the one who kept screwing up >.> I was always the techie in theater simply because I never could remember lines. That and I didn't have the balls to get up there on stage.
But since we've gotten into cosplay, I and our group have put forward quite a bit of focus into theater. I mean, not to bore you, but American cosplay is based more heavily in theater than Japanese cosplay (which is more like modeling)...

hahaha. don't let that stop you. I went onstage almost two years ago at Onicon 2006 with Aerith. It was here that I tried to utilize more theater in cosplay, but I had NO experience. I did have four years of colorguard in high school... which meant that I knew some basic but pretty staff work. But I was working in a dress and with an unfamiliar pole... I was used to using a 5 1/2' metal pole, but my prop was a 6' PVC unbalanced nightmare. On top of all this, I had written my "routine" backstage and I didn't know what the music was. Even though it was only 16 counts, I couldn't remember it. When I got out onstage, I lost the beat, got the end of the pole stuck in my dress, and nearly dropped the whole thing. All of this was in front of several people I admired. , and a few others. Oh, I looked like a total n00b even though I'd been cosplaying for almost four years (7-8 cons).
But you know the best part? I learned from it. I made some great friends along the way (Shoeless, Limit Break, Boom, Twinzik, and several solo cosplayers) and we've all gotten to where we prize presentation almost higher than the costume itself. Because of this, our group (Detail2Perfect) is slated to guest at this upcoming Onicon... two years after that horrible mishap with Aerith. And if all goes well, our panel will be based on Theater in Cosplay so that we can forward this information to the next generation of cosplayers.
