Description My sculpture I did in Plastilina(Type of clay). It is a 12.5-inch sculpture and it is levitated off the ground This wasn't my final but it was a school project. There where a couple errors that I encountered while making this. It wasn't mounted well enough and her wings kept falling off. Her wings were actually much bigger but I had to cut them. This is only my second clay sculpture. Crits and Comments are welcome. I will post side view next and her mini story.

Wow! This is awesome. Love the pose the detail on her face. Considering the size, the details on the face are really impressive.

Very interesting. I've been working on sculpting too lately for school :3 It's lots of fun, ya?

>..> as a matter of fact, I have to make something like yours for my next project. We use Sculpey for our clay.

I think yours looks amazing ^ ^ She looks smooth and neatly done. I really like her pose too, and good job on the hands~

Very well done! Especially for a second sculpture. The main things form wise I notice are the stiffness in the wrists everything about her pose is so fluent and natural and then her wrists and hands seem out of place a bit. Other then that the cloth could have more wrinkles lol. I love her face those so peaceful and serene. Very natural! to bad about the wings though I Can tell you wanted to do alot more with them and then had to stop. I have only done a couple of these myself. I definitely prefer working in maya over clay lol.

Well, her hands were a big issue since they were small. My teacher who works in sculpture said that I did pretty well working with small scale. She said for my statue to turn out the way I envisioned it would of had to been at least 3 ft tall. Her wrists actually have a bend in them but the small scale makes it look really weird XD Id have to post her from her other side for you to see the bend in the wrist. Straight on it does look weird. XD Also since her support doesn't really support her very well, she also leans to the side and forward. As far as cloth wrinkles... I asked my teacher about that and she said that she liked the simplicity of the statue and said I should keep it like that. Also since its levitated I would of had a really hard time to even keep the wrinkles in. I wanted a really thin layer of clay as her dress but when I put on a thin layer it would break so the dress layer is pretty thick. X( So my wrinkles are limited. I did want to do alot with her wings but oh well XD Live and learn. XD I like working in clay its pretty fun. I haven't done 3D models in a 3D program yet

I completely understand how you feel. The annoyance of limitations from things that you don't know it art class and is not communicated until its basically done and they are like if this was this and that was that then this could be this way. lol I really like it though puts all mine to shame. ^_^
