He does heal people, it's just off-screen. He reattached Bee's legs and must have patched up Ironhide and himself during the battle in Mission City. He's not Jesus, though. Once a Transformer is dead, he's dead (unless his name is Optimus Prime or Megatron, of course).

primenatorgirl217 [2011-07-18 01:51:51 +0000 UTC]

Beachbreaker fell off a waterfall and was carried away by the current, and didn't Ironhide rust away in like, 15 seconds flat?

You are right though. Wish Ratchet did some actual HEALING. I think the only time he actually helped heal somebody was when he helped attach Jetfire's parts to Optimus in ROTF.

GothicSora In reply to Aesir-Cookies [2011-07-18 13:44:08 +0000 UTC]

He was pretty much fixes everyone, every other episode, and helped invent the Dinobots

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aesir-Cookies In reply to GothicSora [2011-07-18 13:58:29 +0000 UTC]

exactly, all he ever did was did patch up jobs, but did he do anything truly memorable?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

GothicSora In reply to Aesir-Cookies [2011-07-18 14:24:11 +0000 UTC]

Dinobots, and he did save Optimus's life the one time not the movie obviously.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aesir-Cookies In reply to GothicSora [2011-07-18 14:24:56 +0000 UTC]

the dinobots were more Wheeljack's invention though, anything else?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

GothicSora In reply to Aesir-Cookies [2011-07-18 14:38:55 +0000 UTC]

everything else other than assiting Wheeljack with other insane projects, like putting spikes brain in robot body. No he dropped of the radar until, Transformers prime where he sits around the base being cranky most of the time.

TOTAL nonsequitor at the end.

Wow, Ratchet's minifig is kinda crappy and Optimus is so bulky...

Ratchet's toy here is Deluxe class...Optimus is just THAT BIG!!!

And yes the twins were killed by Sentinel Prime in DOTM

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SkylerFarrier In reply to Aesir-Cookies [2011-07-17 18:13:01 +0000 UTC]

They were? Wow. I remember Ironhide (I cried) but I don't remember the Twins even showing up! Unless you mean the book (official movie version by Alan Dean Foster). I just got it but haven't had a chance to read it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aesir-Cookies In reply to SkylerFarrier [2011-07-17 19:02:50 +0000 UTC]

ADF didn't write the DOTM novel, Peter David did

and the Twins were in a couple of short scenes in the movie...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SkylerFarrier In reply to Aesir-Cookies [2011-07-17 19:14:11 +0000 UTC]

You sure? 'Cause ADF wrote novels for each movie, as well as a prequel to the first and a transition between 1 and 2. There may even be one between 2 and 3.

[But for whatever it's worth, this isn't the only time Bay has said that the Twins aren't returning in "Dark of the Moon." MTV News staff writer Kara Warner attended an event for the film just last month, and Bay told her quite definitively: "They're not even in it. Not even in it."]

[link]
"The Twins, Skids and Mudflap, were originally supposed to return for Dark of the Moon. Even though General Motors provided two Chevrolet Sparks to serve as their alternate modes[64] which were still spotted on the set as late as October 2010[65], the two were mostly edited out of the final movie (their vehicle modes can barely be glimpsed in a brief shot). Michael Bay even went so far as to offer a $25,000 reward for anyone who would see the Twins "perform" in the movie.[66] In the novelization and the comic adaptation, Skids and Mudflap still appear."

Aesir-Cookies In reply to SkylerFarrier [2011-07-17 19:49:20 +0000 UTC]

They were in the movie in vehicle mode in one scene, and you can hear their death scene when Mearing appears at the NEST base

and it is Peter David for the DOTM novel, they changed it for some reason

I actually have it right next to me

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SkylerFarrier In reply to Aesir-Cookies [2011-07-17 20:08:05 +0000 UTC]

Really? 'Cause Bay offered a several thousand $ reward for anyone who can spot the Twins in the movie.

He brought Jazz back to life in the Titan comics... though Jazz turned evil... alive but evil... hm, alive is an anagram of 'a evil' therefore all living things are evil...

Aesir-Cookies In reply to Carnivius [2011-07-17 17:19:44 +0000 UTC]

I was going to mention that like "the only time you actually make anyone better is when they come back evil or they're a Decepticon!"

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Carnivius In reply to Aesir-Cookies [2011-07-17 17:30:10 +0000 UTC]

To be fair a lot of the deaths Ratchet doesn't really have a lot of time to do anything about it cos oftem he wasn't even present when they occur. I like to think that death of TFs in the movieverse means a lot more than it did in the old comics where 'deactivated' characters would get miraculously revived usually when they had a new or re-released toy out though a lot (but not all) of Starscream's victims during the Underbase saga seemed to stay dead and of course Generation 2 seemed to just love killing off characters since the toyline was pretty dead itself during that time.

Aesir-Cookies In reply to Carnivius [2011-07-17 18:02:01 +0000 UTC]

and IDW keeps killing off guys (with 2 coming back to life annoyingly, Ironhide and Sunstreaker...)
