Just a pencil sketch with some quick colors laid upon an astroboy pic i drew. I think i'm gonna have to draw a bigger and better one, and mebe send it over to my bros since he IS Astroboy... or at least Astroboy is his mascot...Related content

Well, it's a problem when Atom loses his arm when he uses his cannon. I really like this solution more than original one. See how can be difficult to recreate in midair a complex thing like a hand.
But, eh, we're talking about a creation by doctor Tenma: maybe a difficult thing would work better than a simple one, in his mind.

Ah, yes... I love them both, even if in some ways they are totally opposite, as characters and as behaviors.
Sometimes, however, we see they're son and father, without any doubt: in spite of what Tenma wants to show, we see he's a passionate man. And Atom is too, because his AI can express lots of complex feelings, and real ones. And when they look at you, both have got a piercing look that can X-ray you, making their company not easy for many people.
A genius who judge you without any word, and a pair of big expressive eyes that don't lose any of your moves... they can be both creepy
Tenma could make Atlas change his whole body too, so Atom's arm cannon and rocket feet are not a problem (maybe it's magnetism, as we saw in Sharaku and Hijeoyagi's episode). But this also means Atom is not only powerful and amazing, but also very delicate. When Atom's foot is hit, in the episode of the Princess, Rino can help him, but he can't take off if he's not totally repaired.
If we want to compare Atom's arm cannon with Megaman's, well, they seem to work the same way; Megaman has got two arm-cannons, one for each hand. Atom has got one.
We can't forget Megaman was first designed to be an assistant for Dr Light, and redesigned to be a battle-bot, while Atom was meant to be a substitute for a dead kid... not really meant to fight, but just to defend himself in case of danger. Megaman can count on an arsenal he can change, find and choose. Atom's arsenal is that: lasers, rocket and left-arm cannon; he can't add more than this, and maybe he's not interested in becoming a tank.
Even if they seem both kids, Megaman is an adult-shaped robot. Atom is meant to be a kid and he will be a kid forever (in the old original comic, however, he experienced a life as an adult-shaped robot, but it was terrible; he was happy to come back to his former self again, and not a weird too big robot-kid...)
