Here's a slightly less sane version of Astro Boy I drew up for Satellite Soda's first weekly jam [link] . Be sure to head on over and check it out!I was kind of on the verge of whether or not to submit this into scraps, but then again, I regard it as something a bit more complete than a sketch. Enjoy!

I lay down flats on a gel layer above the line-art, and then do the rendering on a new "normal" layer above the flats.

Very exciting and original, full of movement and character, and the face looks terriffic! The colouring also looks terrifically realistic, almost as if it had been painted. Superb!!

i used to watch astro boy when i was a kid.
and yes, he do have laser ass or sumthing as far as i remember. and i read about it in the internet too.
on the remake of astro boy, i dont remember him having laser ass (or i must have missed the episode coz i dont watch it often. busy busy)
