Description Just a quick preview before I can get a photoshop style photo done. Huge, full metal, actually works. Motor is slow for convention safe, rather frustrated with that though. Next one will use a RC little gas engine

Thanks Griffin! Yeah, I was pretty inspired by Steampunk for awhile, a very nifty aesthetic. I would really like to try more Cyberpunk, I want a chainsword with teeth that glow

Oh, Cyberpunk? I have not heard of that! Sounds interesting, though.
And especially a weapon like that, cool! Glows make everything cooler.

Glowing makes everything better LED's are so much fun. It is hard to give emotion to metal sometimes, and I find lighting can give that breath of life to it. It is why I like your art, you have emotion and life to your characters, really draws me in

Indeed!
LEDs are pretty cool, yeah. c':

Aaah, I see. ;D
And aw, thanks! Glad you see those things in my art. c':
I'm kinda embarrassed that I haven't posted much for a while, but I've been trying to get more active - by going through my loads of messages, first.

Just a question, well maybe two that looks like one but, can you make more and if so how much would one cost to get one from you? Just curious, oh and your awesome.

AetherAnvil In reply to TeenDarkMagician [2013-09-18 19:15:13 +0000 UTC]

I really don't want to make another one, it was way too much work. I might make a new one though, with a different mechanism! Thank you, I appreciate the questions

Gibbtall [2013-06-01 15:05:47 +0000 UTC]

Pretty awesome! But you shouldn't really have that at a con no matter how fast it goes just because it's metal.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AetherAnvil In reply to Gibbtall [2013-06-02 16:18:46 +0000 UTC]

I agree, at major conventions, metal weapons, when mixed with immature people, is a recipe for disaster.

That said, this is why I love SteamPunk. Smaller cons, metal weapons are allowed, mature people the majority of attendance. It is awesome to have people walking around with full metal everything, from guns, to sword, to armor and not having to worry. If you get a chance, go to SteamCon, you will see what I mean

a little too much of rivets, but however.... Oh my god it's badass !!!!

AetherAnvil In reply to Arph [2013-05-30 22:04:37 +0000 UTC]

Agreed, the handle was a bit too detailed, requiring too many rivets. Gotta cut back sometimes

IchigoXXRukia [2013-05-30 11:23:13 +0000 UTC]

You know it's kind of funny, I am writing a book now that has this same type weapon in it. A sword that has a blade with chainsaw teeth that slices through enemies with ease XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AetherAnvil In reply to IchigoXXRukia [2013-05-30 14:00:16 +0000 UTC]

This one struggles a bit with the enemy slicing right now One day...

That's so freaking cool. The only thing cooler than a chainsaw-sword hybrid is one that catches fire.

On purpose I mean.

hexicateonline In reply to AetherAnvil [2013-05-23 01:52:26 +0000 UTC]

Nothing says "we are no longer taking this monster's sass" like mechanical weapons that are on fire.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AetherAnvil In reply to hexicateonline [2013-05-23 02:01:48 +0000 UTC]

I looked at making a plasma sword not too long ago, basically combining high voltage and pure oxygen to generate the stuff. Maybe a bad idea? But hey, nothing says, "Monster, what monster" like a pile of ash.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

hexicateonline In reply to AetherAnvil [2013-05-23 03:55:06 +0000 UTC]

The main danger from that is that you can catch your own bad self ablaze with it. (I also inadvertently went right through a work table with a cutting torch back in my school days.)

AetherAnvil In reply to hexicateonline [2013-05-23 06:27:43 +0000 UTC]

lol, gotta love the ol' high school oxy-acetalene ! I can't say how many times I have shocked myself as late trying to high this high voltage stuff to work. I think there is a reason why weapons are rarely energized or on fire...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

hexicateonline In reply to AetherAnvil [2013-05-24 02:28:03 +0000 UTC]

"WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS TABLE?" And that's how I learned to spot-weld.

Weapons not only have to be user-friendly... they have to be user-proof.
