Description
For the pronunciation you will have to hear it in person, but this image was taken at the largest private waterfall on the Big Island of Kauai. I was lucky enough to get down to shoot it at the end of my trip. A very tricky image to get as the flow was a bit quick, but warm, and the rocks undulating and very slippery. Added to the fun I was wearing JUST my river shoes :-PEnjoy and thanks for the c/c!

Hmm, I wanted a good pop here as the scene felt like it needed...feel that I need to go back and tweak a bit more. What about the framing? You mean the matte or the comp?

yep i understand, it just looks too unnatural...not your composition the frame...but thats a personal thing, i think it detracts from your images severly

Nice waterfall! I am going to Maui next year so I hope to get some good waterfall shots there. I think the water looks a little on the blue side...could use a minor tweak on the white balance. But your shutter speed is very nice and focus is good throughout!

Left the blue hint to the water on purpose to give the feel of the water and a cool feeling scene. The warmer wb didnt have the same punch, esp w/ the greens.
Plenty to shoot on Maui. Hana. That's what you need to know. My maui photos will be coming in the next few days and weeks.

Thanks for the tip. I will make sure to check that spot out.
If you had wanted the water white without affecting the greens, you could've layered the shot in post processing and done one layer for the greens and one layer for the water and then selectively changed the opacity to allow the good part of the bottom layer to show through the top layer.

Suppose I could have masked it...we'll see if my thoughts on the color change. Blue always shows through in clear, fresh water though. Good timesssss
