Oooh. Okay. Well here, all the garter snakes have a yellow stripe down the back. And they're black.
So I was.. oooooOoh. Lol

Yeah, but I've encountered the babies too. They don't look much different, 'cept they've got the green bellies instead of white/yellow.
But I think I just recently ran into the kind of garter snake in this picture.
He was a big one and he was more spotty than stripey, but he might have been a gopher snake. Which also doesn't make sense because they're mostly found in California, and rarely where I live.. AND they're illegal to sell here..
