Wow, thank you for the time and in the insight!
I spent a while there - it was at a sea-facing pavilion, the yellow lines marking steps down to a tidal pool. I was hoping for the focus to snap on the front one, but this is what I got - and the title just leapt out.

I love the symmetry of the gulls (it looks like a busy seagull airport) and the shallow depth of field!

'seagull airport'Β - it fits. There is a huge breeding colony down the adjoining beach from here - "Nine Mile Beach" it is called, for a reason.
The DoF was a little of necessity, but it worked out in the end.

It runs across the top of False Bay, and is almost totally undeveloped. There is a road that runs along its edge, and the sand blows across the road when the south-easter blows! Big with fishermen, and occasional surfers. Its also close to a shark breeding ground
