i don't like how the major highlights have been coming out kinda blurry
seems to happen with all of the hypershot renders
but it's awesome nonetheless

it looks like you've added a different material to each rim

Its the lighting. The main light source is to the left of the image so the front of the image is receving more light than the back.

i remember testing hypershot at siggraph...looks like it saves a lot of time
