Description Black paper is my new favorite thing!
It is challenging to try to figure out where shadows and highlights go when the base is dark instead of light.
I still don't nail those but who cares when practicing is fun!

This fiery horsey jumping in the darkness is EspressoShots very handsome Cavitto Chaos !
His mane and tail are catching colors from some very imaginative light source...

I have returned from inactivity once more! Haha, I am doing well, busy being a Primary teacher now but I am determined to start being active again, and drawing more regularly. How are you doing?

Good to hear that you're doing well and cannot wait to see more art from you! (There is one gorgeous piece in my inbox that I have already been admiring; I will get into commenting part soon. )
My life is busy but good, there have lots of changes recently and I am trying to get used to them. Even good life changes seem to require some kind adaptation! I have been neglecting drawing lately but trying to fix the situation. ^^

Whoa. I have to say this is a very interesting pose that I happen to really like. It kind of looks like the pose is saying "What are you waiting for? Get on you idiot!"

Mustalle paperille piirtäminen tekee mulle hyvää koska siihen ei voi piipertää kauheasti yksityiskohtia (tai voi mutta ne hukkuu aika hyvin skannatessa), joten tulee piirretty paljon tavallista nopeampaa ja rennompaa jälkeä.

Chaos is one of my favorite Cavittos so it was totally my pleasure to draw him.
Too bad my black papers are so small - I would have loved to include his guardian in the picture as well! But maybe I can draw Raemor some other time. ^^

I have only drawn couple of times on a black paper earlier so I am kinda black paper noob so to speak.
I will definitely keep practicing; I can see so much potential in colored papers and what could be better start for a new year than start learning something new.

I know what you mean, it is a nice challenge to start out the new year! I have started to try out colored paper and water colors... I am still practicing with water colors... So that is a little bit of a mess. I can't wait to see more from you this year!!

I would recognize this fiery stallion anywhere!    He looks absolutely amazing! 
The pose is so full of energy and movement.  And the way you've done the shading with the dark paper - it's gorgeous!
