Description Entering into the forest, Otto ran as fast as he could, holding his wounded and bandaged arm close, to avoid any further damage to it. The attack on the fortress yesterday had been repulsed, and the invasion force sailed north, leaving otto with an infected wound that seemed unresponsive to any kinds of treatment, herbal or otherwise. He was advised to seek an elvish healer in the woods, and set off the next morning in his full armor.

Walking practically blind into the North Forest, Otto searched for hours for a settlement. When at last he came to one, and found that it was simply a human trading post, and they knew nothing of where the elves lived. Again venturing into the unfamiliar woods, he got lost even quicker, and decided to head down to where the trees became thinner for the night. Propping himself on a reddish tree, and found a moss covered area to lay out on. While he was sure the roving creatures would not attack him in his sleep, he drew out a small circle of protection in runes, and as it faded into the ground he could rest easy. Remaining in his armor, he put his shield and sword within arms reach incase of an emergency later that night.

Uneasily Ottokar slipped into a heavy sleep, and that is when the spirit found him. The spirit of Forest North, Bahnahroak had been tracking the knight since he entered, and after putting him to sleep the mighty creature descended upon the slumbering knight’s area. After breaking through his feeble warding circle, the tree lord whispered,

“You have a strange presence in you human, and with that I see great things in your future. I shall unlock them, and you then shall aid our doomed homeland."
With that, Bahnahroak, sent his memories and some of his energy into the forehead of the knight, but something went amiss. Ottokar’s arm wound began to glow, and his armor melted off. As the clothing and chain mail vanished he grew horns on his head, fur on his legs, which then became hoofed like a goats. He grew a tail, and his ears pointed. Green markings appeared down his arms and sides of his chest, and all the while Ottokar slept as he changed from human to satyr. There were obviously greater forces at work with this man than the spirit realized, when he awoke, the spirit would ask him more.
-------------
So this is a new take on Otto's origin story now it's a passive change in his sleep, and it’s part of a much larger and involved storyline. I’m finally making sense out of all my characters now. Bahnahroak is in the process of being designed and I should have new refs for Ottokar’s satyr form, he’s not gunna be running around like he is in the picture for any length of time.

I started this in November, and the original sketch looks better than this does, this is the result of 32 hours of coloring, not including two previous colorfails and the other times i sketched it. I'm not thrilled about the anatomy in the lower half and his head's probably too big.

Ottokar and Bahnahroak are both © to me.

Very nicely done, this looks really great! The background is pretty awesome, I like the lighting effects from the sun. That is such a neat pose, as well.

The details in the background really are so ridiculous here. I just love the bark on all the trees, not to mention the moss and the lighting effects. You draw grass so well.

As for Otto, himself, I really like the pose you've put him in--it doesn't look like he was drawn and then the tree was put there as an afterthought. He looks like he's actually propped on the tree instead of having the tree just...there. I really like his markings, too.
