Appearance: Short Blonde hair with green tinges, flipped up in a gravity defying style (carefully arranged daily with buckets of hair gel). He has light brown eyes, and suntanned skin. His build is very athletic, he is both a swimmer and runs track, he also works out a lot to keep his body fit. He walks around in flip-flops year round, and wears sleeveless white shirts, and shorts. He usually wears and often he will wear a bathing suit out in public, whether he is going to beach or a pool later or not. He carries his personally designed surfboards around with him a lot, and occasionally brings them to Classes.

Personality: Pure and simple, he’s a stereotypical surfer dude. He has an extremely laid back personality, and goes out of his way to stay on good terms with everyone. He is generally happy and fun loving, and at the same time is one of the most informal people one could ever meet, talking surfer slang in just about every occasion. He understands however when he needs to focus in on something and act responsible. He may act with abandon and carelessness, but he is by no means stupid and acts with dedication and intent when he needs to. He is also not a jock, while successful in surfing, swimming and running, he is inept at every other sport.

History: Charles was born in Avon, Hatteras Island on June 12th, to his mother and father, Donna and Maximillian Leferber. From an early age he expressed a profound desire to be active, he was always running first into the ocean to swim even in extremely cold weather. When he couldn’t do that, he noodged his father into playing with him, until in school he signed up for many sports, to the point where his mother became a taxi for all of his athletic endeavors, until he turned 16, and got his drivers license.

In high school, Charles got certified as a lifeguard, and then as a surfing instructor, he worked many days giving swim lessons and surf lessons, as well as helping the school he applied to in senior year, UNC-W with catching fish for their bio and fish programs. Charles’ mother opened a surf shop, during his junior year of high school and Charles found himself moving his jobs to the new business, and also got into designing his own surfboards. That spring he got accepted into UNC-W’s science college, and became a marine Biology major. He was in his sophomore year of college, when he met Glaucus and Kejital. He became their tour guide, and later room advisor, and all was well for all of them. About two months in, Charles’ long standing relationship ended with a big blowup, and when he found out his girlfriend had been cheating on him for about three months, and they’d been together for five. He dumped her, and she stalked him to the point of him getting a restraining order, and he nearly transferred schools.

One night at the gym he bought a new kind of energy drink, called “Euphoza”. Thinking nothing of it he took it home with him. He chugged the next morning before a bio exam, and then left for the surf. That day, November 2nd he vanished. They found his shorter board shattered and his clothing strewn about the beach, stained with seawater, and his own blood.

But he didn't die. He was transformed into a merfolk, and was sucked into the sea by the rip currents. He somehow made his way in his awkward form to a far off world, where he entreated the king, Carlo IV to help him change back. But he became romantically involved with a mermaid, Maerin.

Meanwhile his parents mourned their one and only child, dead for almost two months, and still unable to cope with their loss. Suffice it is to say, it was a strange sight for them to see him, when he returned as a merman to tell them the story.

This Is Charles the day before he disappeared. He has not yet bought the mysterious “Euphoza” and he’s preparing for his last real surf, the next time he goes to the beach- you know the rest.

The title is from the song, “A tout le monde” by Megadeth (I like the newer version, and that’s the song I used as I drew this image.)

This is also for the Modern storyline, Charles probably being the only one to branch both the real and the "Helios" stories.
