Week 18 is devoted to a very little known game called "BLADES OF VENGEANCE"... yes it has to be in all caps.Blades of Vengeance was a typical heroically barbarian side scroller where some evil person (I think some chick) is ravaging the land and three heroes take on their hordes in mortal kombat.
Our heroes, which are kinda nameless for the most part - I think, bah who cares - include the Muscular Barbarian guy with an Axe, the ZOMGPORNSTAR Built Huntress, and the... why that is the most Homeless looking wizard I have ever seen!
Anyways, considering they were in just one game ever from a company that was completey eaten by another - I'm sure their career as game heroes is long over... so what are they doing now?
...lets see.

This was a game I missed as a child and only discovered it a few years ago. I only really started playing it a couple of days ago and I have to say I'm really disappointed by how unknown it is and how little artwork of the characters there is. This game and The Ooze are criminally under rated. These three heroes deserve some more love by the DA community.

I like to think of them as the "Great Value" Brand Golden Axe characters... though damn that Huntress though. It was a good game despite a few kinks here and there that would have been smoothed out should there have been a sequel.

Yeah, a sequel would have been great! I wouldn't mind if SEGA rebooted it as well. (Although, look at the abomination that is Beast Rider)
And yeah, that huntress...I really have to commend whoever designed her. I was sad not to find much artwork of her on DA...like, at all.

I owned (and still have) this game, ever since I bought it for my Sega Genesis back around 1995. And I agree; that wizard looked so much like an old hobo, I felt filthy-dirty whenever I stopped playing the huntress long enough to play him.
So I approve of this doodle and its quirky character (and its entirely accurate portrayal of the wizard). Did the huntress wear sandals, though? I forget. But knee-length sandals would suit her quite nicely.

If I recall, It's been a while since I looked at the Sprite. But I remember it being Strappy and not boots.

I revisited Blades of Vengeance, and sure enough, the huntress wore these knee-length gladiator sandals. I don't know how I forgot that; she was the one I played the most, just because she's cute to look at.

Very nice. I wouldn't be surprised if Golden Axe was the inspiration behind Blades of Vengeance, at least a little bit.

I'm sure it was a copy of it, I mean it does just fall into similar character designs like crazy. Though then again I think this game really just suffered from being so Generic.

@Wreslterotica: The chick in Golden Axe: The Duel is not Tyris Flare, but she is a descendant of the character -- Milan Flare. Golden Axe: The Duel takes place 80 years after the events of Golden Axe: Revenge of Death Adder by the way.

That was an actually decent game, kinda short and simple but still good if you can find it cheap or free
