Another point of view of Ben's skecth.
I'm painting often in this Moleskine watercolor notebook, I made a lot of my last paintings there, I feel comfortable with its format and paper. (:

I find this work to be extremely expressive - not only considering the expression on his face, but also in the way that you are using colors and lines for depth. I also appreciate the format/placement of the drawing, as well as the size you are choosing to work on - this happens to be a comfortable preference for myself. Overall, I applaud the focus to detail, and I admire the technical skill that factors into the overall strength of this piece. I realize this critique falls more into my own opinion, however, I appreciate the originality and the mixing of tools to create something eye catching and unique. This work caught my eye immediately. Very great job, indeed.

I don't think you need to request critique, that piece is filled with emotional depth. The variation of colour and simple lines really strengthens the eye. Beautiful might not be the word to describe the hopelessness in his expression, but it does describe your artwork.
