Slight correction.. hmm this isn't Su-30MKI ..but it's Su-27UB.

Indian Airforce at first got Su-30K which similar as Su-27UB but with its IRST moved to left side to make room for refuelling probe.

This is the Su-30K

Su-30MKI is the newer version with Canard foreplanes

You're right, this isn't an SU-30MKI, I will fix the caption. From the registration number, I think this should an SU-30MK, but it's on the wrong model, the 27UB as you mentioned.

It was, thanks! I have a 30MK model which I might be able to switch the Indian paint onto.. I'll look into it when I get a chance!!

I look forward to your result

oh BTW that model in the link is Chinese Su-30MKK built by KNAAPO in Kosmolsk Ne Amur. All Indian Flankers were built by Irkut (IAPO) which also built the Su-27UB.

The differences between both Su-30MK can easily be seen by looking at their tip of the rudder. the KNAAPO built Su-30MKK has "straight tip" ala Su-35 while the IAPO built Su-30MK has traditional Su-27P angled tip.

BTW here's an image

good move

i reccommend some good books on Flanker.. hmm the Red Star series "Famous Russian Aircraft"By Midland or "Story of Su-27" by Andrei Fomin.

So far it has the best info regarding flanker variants and their respective history.

Flankers and Harriers, what a good combo

The Indian Harriers are vintage, FRS.1 era jets. Are they even still in use?
