Description Frollo et Esmeralda. C’est la mort ou l’amour.

“Love is lethal. Love will pick you up and fling you from Paris’s tallest building. If you love Esmeralda, you will be tortured and rebuked, and then you will die for love.”
Elizabeth Mc Cracken

I love this so much! This is one of the most beautiful pictures of Frollo and Esme I've ever seen. You managed to do sooo much with this picture, it shows such emotion and you only used black and white.

I'm big fan of Claude and I just say thank you for making a such beautiful pic, I'm in love with it :Q___ Specifically I love the folds of Claude's cloak that seem to come from a gothic miniature

The shading on this piece is superb! It gives an illusion of colour, almost. I also love the piece's soft consistency as well as the detail! Really great work. You've captured a wonderful moment.

D'aw The acter (which the painting seems to reflect) was one of my favorite Frollos. <3 instant fave.

I beg your pardon? Who is “D'aw The acter”?

LibraryPhantom In reply to Agriografo [2011-09-02 23:02:50 +0000 UTC]

Please, disregard that. It was a mix of, I-should-be-sleepin-not-typing, and thinking the hood was a weird haircut. I had a moment of DURPYness.

Yes, a LETHAL Beauty.

Thank you, it’s really very kind of you. I’m glad you enjoyed it.

The Hunchback of Notre-Dame (Modern Library Classics)
Victor Hugo (Author), Catherine Liu (Translator),
Elizabeth McCracken (Introduction)

Her delightful introduction was the only reason to add this dreadful new translation to my N.D. collection. And NOT~~ because I was promised an “erotic language” and “not only is C.Frollo is more monstrous, but La Esmeralda’s own orgasmic swoon and her inability to give up her Capitan make her less innocent than the most English readers believed her to be”

Thank you !! This is precisely what I have in mind!

“The priest eyed her like a kite which has long been circling high in the sky round a poor lark huddled amidst the corn, which has long and silently been contracting the fearsome circles of its flight, and then suddenly pounces on its prey like a lightning flash and holds it palpitating in its claws.”
