part 1 of my srs bsns pokemon team from heartgold - which i bought last month and had a ton of fun playing. i still have to do the kanto arc, but i got distracted by my shiny new 3DS XL and Ocarina of Time 3D.random notes:
-pepper makes the 4th female starter i've gotten without trying
-i love espeons a lot
-edison is amazing. also his anatomy based around sheep meets lion meets giraffe.
other half of the team to come.

These are really cool. Especially the Ampharos and the Granbull on the other sheet.
Ampharos never reminded me of a giraffe, but suddenly it makes sense. 
I used to get many female starters, too, but that lucky streak seems to be over.

Thank you! And I really had so much fun deciding how I wanted to draw Edison, as both a Flaafy and an Ampharos, but especially Ampharos.
Granbulls don't get enough love in my opinion. They're really cool pokemon, actually; especially the simplicity of their design, which you don't see that much in the more recent generations.
Awww. :C I'm semi-hoping for another female starter in Black/White 2, but at the same time I've had "Pierpont" waiting in the wings to name a starter for two games, now, and the girls keep foiling that. xD

Ampharos gives a lot of room for interpretation. Yeah, it's supposed to be a sheared sheep, but then not really.
Granbull isn't cute enough, probably. 
If you get another female in the next game, just make her live with the masculine name.

I really don't know how it keeps happening. I've had a female Chimchar, Snivy, Empoleon and now Pepper, my Typhlosion. I think I might've gotten a female Tepig at some point but only for a few seconds because it was the start of a Nuzlocke and the poor dear got knocked out in the first battle. :U

I haven't had a female starter in my life. I'm just chronically bad at against-the-odds games; I think the only way I'd ever get a female starter is if they remade Yellow (which I'd totally approve of, by the way) since Pikachu has 50/50 odds on gender. But, bleh. Like that's gonna happen.
