But OY! To say the least…
I decided to see my doctor at the City’s neighborhood clinic this morning to be sure it was nothing serious. Well, the next thing I know I’m in an ambulance being taken to the big Medical Center here in San Francisco for evaluation & tests. Why? My blood pressure was high & my heart rate was irregular. Being 75 & having treatable hypertension + a mild heart attack some years ago, “We can’t take any chances,” the doctor said. “If we let you go home and you have another heart attack and possibly die, I and the System are liable.” Well after 10-hours of discomfort & a shit load of tests, the diagnosis & verdict: “You just have a bad case of the flu. Otherwise, you’re in pretty good shape for someone your age with your medical history.” Great news & a relief, but good grief! Thank God I have government insurance & this happened before Trump & his gangsters destroy the Health Care System to make the rich richer because this whole affair cost $20-thousand (!). Needless to say, I don’t have that kind of money. So, if it had been serious, I probably would have died. I’ll forego ranting about what’s wrong with the System. It should be obvious & wouldn’t do any good anyway. However, I must say the medical staff was very nice & professional…

After reading ur text, it reminds me of my own experience too (but not as serious as yours) my fever hadn't gone down after a week and I had a serious headache and I feared that I got some kind of serious illness. I went to several clinics and they diagnosed different kind of illness and I was so nervous, I thought that this is it. Later the last clinic I visited told me that it was just a normal fever that takes longer to cure and guess what, I was so relieved and recovered days later. The common lesson between our story is that overthinking kills I guess? XD still good grief that we're still here safe and sound
