Overall he has a curious disposition that makes him fear very little, letting him explore the unknown without much of a care. He still takes the time to be aware of what's going on and to acknowledge dangers presented to him, but this never shakes his resolve-- if anything, it encourages him to go forward!
+Dexterous
Since he has roots in art and he had to perform a lot of great feats of physical activity to defy his hometown, he still retains a lot of dexterity and flexibility in his movements. This lets him sneak around and get into oddly-shaped spaces. Usage of tools and objects that require a steady and fine hand are also easy for him to use.
+Creative
Growing up, he did take a huge interest in miscellanious art disciplines, and is a graffiti artist as well as a guitar player. This creativity has allowed him to become more observant and think outside of the box in his day-to-day activities, coming up with great ideas for practically anything.
•Unyielding
He never, ever backs away or gives up. This is great for a lot of his tasks and activities, but he doesn't know when to throw in the towel. It often leads to him getting more injured and exhausted than he ever should be, compromising his activity. He would quite literally fight to the death if that's what was needed.
•Loud
He's outgoing and likes to sing along while playing his guitar. As a result, he's overall just a bit more loud-spoken than most individuals. While this is great at letting himself be heard, he doesn't really know how to whisper or stay quiet if the situation requires it. He's just... too enthusiastic about things to zip his lip!
-Reckless
He has never really cared about his personal health when it comes to... anything, really! Most of the time he's covered in scars and bandages, all because he ultimately wants to do whatever he pleases or whatever it takes to achieve a task, even if it's risky and dangerous. He still thinks he's a nimble teenager sometimes.
-Defiant
Due to his hatred and distrust for those of authority and higher society, he is very skeptical when he has to speak to or help a member of these groups. He still will of course, but it takes him a very long time to warm up to someone of a higher social ranking. Sometimes he'll go as far as to ignore them completely and go against their wishes.
-Short-Tempered
Although he normally keeps himself calm and collected, he can still be quick to short bursts of anger, especially when frustrated with someone or something. Rarely does he take it out on others (unless that individual is the source of his anger), but it can get him pretty distracted and prone to doing the wrong thing.

History:
Rieka was born as the eldest child into a noble family of lower caliber, with a younger sister Marika. His parents, a Luxray father and a Pyroar mother, were wealthy merchants and tradesfolk, and cared primarily about their status and none else. The two children were thusly raised to be prim and proper. Rieka hated this and was prone to playing pranks and ultimately doing what he enjoyed, much to the chagrin of his family. Although his sister was more keen on listening to their parents, the two still shared a very deep bond, and Rieka would do anything for her.
As they aged into teenagers, the family got a reputation for being "mostly acceptable, except for that son." The distance between Rieka and his parents grew over time because of this. Other members of higher society looked down on him, and would sometimes exclude his parents from elegant affairs due to disapproval and concern about what Rieka may do as an act of non-conformance.
Eventually, this rubbed off on Marika, who didn't do anything but was treated as a delinquent, as it was assumed she would be prone to "warping" by her brother due to her young age. Nobody would listen to her, or to Rieka when he would take all accountability and stand up for her.

An unfortunate accident had left Marika stumbling down a steep hill during a walk, and there was no way back up. She was screaming for help at passersby, but because of the family's now-tarnished reputation, nobody stood in to help. It was fortunate that Rieka was vandalizing the nearby area, because he heard her screams-- without a care for his own being, he lept down the hill and tumbled, and then grabbed his weak and hungry sister. He was able to pull himself up the hill with her holding onto his back, and the two made it to the main walkway.
After she had mentioned what happened, and how long she had been down there, Rieka was absolutely disgusted. He didn't have to know that it was due to the assumptions of those in Nobellius that she was left for dead.
From that day on he swore he would use his craftiness and dexterity to help others that have been left behind, where nobody wants to help rescue them.

After having yelled at his parents about the incident, and going so far as to vandalize the entire governance plaza, Rieka was sentenced to exile from his home island for insubordination and reckless behaviour towards the monarchy. They didn't care where he went, as long as he took one of the cheapest boats offered and went somewhere a fair distance away.
He stumbled upon the land of Ethovalon, where there seemed to be large guilds dedicated to what Rieka personally believed in-- helping others, no matter what, to the best of one's ability.
Smirking, he knew the exile was a blessing in disguise, and made his way inward.

To this day, he sends letters to Marika under a penname-- Kiera, an anagram of his name, posing as a long-distance penpal his sister "met" in an abroad schooling program.
Their parents have no idea.

Inventory: A necklace with an anchor attached, made by his sister. Also a lilac armband from his sister as a memento following his exile. NOTE: Although he is presented with sunglasses, he does not wear them, and will have to obtain them!

Extra: He has scars on his legs, and one across his nose bridge, and his left eye. These scars were obtained during his rescue of his sister.
