About the art:
The vaquita: the world's smallest porpoise.
The maui's dolphin: the world's smallest dolphin.
Both critically endangered due to careless human activity.
Both species on the brink with reports of 50 or fewer individuals left.
Extinction is forever, and immediate action is needed.

We were able to buy this as a pillow cover on Amazon.  It is gorgeous.
Ironically though, it came from China.
Thanks for the beautiful piece and for making more people aware of the beauty and plight of the vaquita!

Ya, I see it. >.<
when I begin the OCD version of this and dig harder through the small amount of reference photos available and limited information maui's vs hector's physical appearance, I believe I shall go quite mad!

Yes. Hooray for perfectionism. I should study my cetacean anatomy some more. My sketches have been lacking a bit lately

I'm a perfectionist, and I drive myself nuts over it, but I've noticed if I nitpick anatomy and etc too much my pieces lose their "artistic feel." Whatever that means... I'm not sure but it usually means fewer people like the art, the stuff I draw freehand on a whim with no references ends up being the stuff people want to buy. >.<

Hmm... idk. Sometimes it's nice to go free without worrying to much about perfection. But I get you, if there's a little thing off it bugs me
