This started out as a pretty simple colored sketch for Sekh765 on FA, as a thank you for some advice they gave me recently, and an excuse to draw a very lovely bird character. (Though who ever needs an excuse for that?) And this sort of took on a life of its own, since I started using it as an exercise to practice digital coloring, shading, back lighting, and background creation. Got to say, I am pretty happy with how this one turned out, and was fun to work through. Big thanks to my friends Corrvo, Goldquiver, and Accidentalfox who gave me great feedback and advice along the way. Any feedback is welcome.Character (C) Sekh765

The softshading works well with this piece; using rearground lighting or a dark scene can be pain in the neck!

Awesome work man! There's a lot you can do with highlights in a generally darker piece. And especially with a fitting background, some more intense lighting can really stand out.
