Description the title sucked so much i tried to make it cooler by adding spaces...
I painted this at CSSSA, and it's so huge it's not even funny. It's 4 ft by 3 1/3 ft, which is pretty big by my standards. We were given an "alternate identity" assignment and i've always had this unreachable dream of being a pokemon trainer, so...

-----------------------------
Materials: lots and lots of acrylic paint. especially white.
Time: 25-30 hours
obviously, none of the pokemon belong to me, they belong to the pokemon company or nintendo or game freak or WHOEVER their owner is.

Ahhh NO thank YOU lol I'm really jealous of the way you handle acrylics, they're my weakness!

Yeah I've been secretly stockpiling my art so I can one day jump into the t-shirt business lol

personally i'm not a huge fan of acrylics. everyone else would use acrylics and their stuff would turn out really awesome and pro, and then i'd be there, using acrylic with tons of water and drips and it would turn out really watercolorish. i guess it was just my style, but it didn't feel right if it wasn't actual watercolor

that sounds awesome! that tourist picture of yours would be a must-have shirt for any tourist

Actually me either just because of how temperamental and hard to control they can be. I can never get them to behave. But you totally made it work lol honestly first look I thought this was pastel.

Watercolors are forever my favorite! They're so easy and they look awesome :'D

I hope so haha I get ideas for shirts like it's no tomorrow

thank you again! watercolors are really awesome, so i can't understand when people don't like watercolors because they say that it's too hard.

i swear i can never think of anything i want to paint, even if i want to paint really badly, and then suddenly it's like BAM SO MANY IDEAS ALL AT ONCE.

Watercolors are so easy though! You don't even have to know color theory to mess with light & darks, you just have to adjust how much water you use lol that's why I love it

Yeah, I gotchoo. I have my days too. I run out of ideas really fast, and then I get mad at myself. Like there are 2304982304 mediums you could be doing this stuff in, but noooo my brain is just like "Nah I think you've been productive enough to last you for the next week, maybe 10 days"

Oh yeah. My birthday's soon. I forgot about that. If I ever have a party I'm gonna demand everyone wears bowties. But i'm too lame for parties.

i totally agree! it's really fun too.. way more fun than acrylics in my opinion. what i've been hearing is that they dislike how watercolors are unforgiving if you screw up you can't be like "oh i'll just cover it up with an opaque layer of white" But, it's just so beautiful if it turns out right.. i get all emotional and excited just thinking about all the possibilities watercolor has lol

Yeah i recently started to write all my ideas in one place so i wouldn't forget later, but the thing is that when i go back to the ideas, i just don't feel it anymore. it just doesn't FEEL the same. it's like even if the idea lasts, the motivation for the idea disappears after a while.

Hey, birthdays are awesome. Even if it isn't a party, it's still nice to have friends around for no reason to just do dumb things with. it's pretty fun, but maybe that's just me.

ps bowties are sexy and no one's too lame for a party

That's a pretty silly argument lol arguing at the permanency of something that's already permanent. Oh well. Watercolor is beautiful and standalone and no one can take that away from you, me, or that mexican guy down the street.

I only used to write my dreams down. Now I write down everything so it doesn't go away. I always find my motivation again somehow

yeah bowties are the shit! Everyone needs one!

that was well said

I've always wanted to keep a journal, but i just couldn't keep up. Nowadays i just keep a notebook with goals, lists, and sometimes i put in an occasional journal entry. It's just because i get really nostalgic sometimes about pretty much everything, so..

I only have a gold sequinned cheap one that i had to wear for a performance :C

I could never consistently keep one either, lol, not even a dream journal. Ohhhhhh wellllll, my dreams are scary anyway. I once had a dream I met this really cool girl at a party and then somehow I was on the phone with her, but she was a ghost, and her voice faded away until I couldn't hear it anymore and I knew she was gone forever.

I got my bowtie because I was in orchestra for a year! I fell in love with them ever since *0*

I have awesome dreams where i do crazy things and crazy things happen and i wake up and feel sad :/ i wish i could learn the secert of lucid dreaming...

But that is a scary dream you had there

My bowtie was super uncomfortable and it wasn't even pretty, so i didn't have the best first impression.

No need

aiidae In reply to PictureOnProgress [2013-09-05 18:48:23 +0000 UTC]

Wow, did it take a long time for you to finish them?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PictureOnProgress In reply to aiidae [2013-09-06 00:35:39 +0000 UTC]

It depends on how the assignment has to be done, and the complexity of it.

For instance, today I finished an abstract assignment in about 2 hours; it was 50 x 70 cms, using paint.

And sometimes, it takes me days to finish an assignment of the same magnitude Because of the technique.
