"Growing. Growing and maturing, like a butterfly emerging from a cocoon. Yet, I knew in the center of my heart there's a piece of childishness that can never be changed."So, my first proper piece in a very very very long while...=_= ; sorry, only squeezed time to upload this.
those mutated black things are butterflies by the way. and apologies for the super-off arms...i was trying to do that perspective thing where one bit is much larger than the other...didn't really work though. the left hand look like dog paws...=___= ;

Hey cool, I read the first line and I thought... that reminds me of me! I'm like 3 weeks away from being a legal adult, and I have grown (not physically XD) and learned so much. However, I am still very childish, and actually it's not just "in my heart," it shows clearly... XDDDDD
When I looked at the uncolored sketch, I was a little worried, like "what's that stuffed animal doing there, it doesn't fit in with the rest of the picture!" And I was like, "I know aiki likes plushies in her pics but this has gone too far!" But now it makes sense.
I think it's easy to tell that the black things are butterflies!! And I don't think the left hand looks like a paw. The thing you are talking about when the side closest to the camera is a lot larger than the other is called foreshortening. And you're right, it its not in the pic, but I think that's good. Although I don't think the arms are the same length.
I loooove the texture on the dress and the clothes folds. One thing that could have helped the picture is... if there was some kind of stuff swirling/flying/spreading out around her that she was breaking out of that symbolizes the cocoon. (spelling?) also, I think the ear is a little awkwardly placed.
I like her hair color, reminds me of Ayumi Hamasaki *random* XDDD

XD maybe it's puberty, i just feel like growing up a lot, seeing thing differently. O_o when's your B-day? Maybe i could draw you a b-day present.
lol, you ARE right, i only drew the stuffed animal coz i felt like it, and the ideas came after i've finished the picture...=_= (i always do that.)
T_T yeah, that's the thing, foreshortening, i never figured it out.
The texture is a pattern overlay on photoshop. ^-^ I considered the twirling thing too, but it's too hard to do so i didn't bother.
