A collab with , she's coloring it! >_< my first official collab on DA!! O_o I put lots of effort into this one! Left is her character, Lyra, (reference ), and right is my character, Shirei .

PS. those fluffy stuffs are NOT spiders! =_= they are dandelion seeds. I drew dandelion because Shirei is from my manga Dandelions.

I know what you mean, i felt the same when I was on holiday a month ago...but those days are gone, and i kinda miss it now. T_T
O__o 3 months is quite a long time, how could you cope with it!! >_< so you are studying in Japan? that's awesome, wish i get the chance to. well, i don't do much else apart from drawing...maybe watch some dramas?? or read? outdoor exercise is good...=_= (not that i even bother to do. lol)

aah...true. i personally prefer drawing, coz my mum's constantly using computer and I hardly get the chance to CG. Well, unleast you prefer watercolors then i don't mind coloring.

ahaahaa...i mean you could draw and i can watercolor, because with watercolor i don't need to use the computer, since my mum's constantly using the computer, I can't CG very often. But if you prefer digital coloring then it's fine with me, just need to take longer. Ok, ^o^ you can draw. But! I DON"T DO HENTAI!! so yeah, keep it innocent. XD

YEAH! Let's strive for a DD. XD (the example was a DD) and I chose that one coz I thought it's somehow close to your style. Aren't I right?? ^^ Don't bother TOO much about laces if they are a hassle, coz that just makes it more DIFFICULT to color!!! T_T Yes! I'll try to do my best too!! -O- Actually I want to try that kinda soft affect you have, what brush setting do you use? My style always look a bit too sharp...=_=

Still...that is also a lazy art ><.. i only use photoshop for it...in all my DA artworks...i only use photoshop and nothing else...i'm still learning how to use PainterIX though >< *cries*
I'm sure u could do a nice soft coloring by using SAI alone XDD if its about photoshop...just use the airbrush and change the opacity up and down while u color XDD i use smudge for edges only...but to smoothen the surface..i just color through with diffrence opacity and color XDD

PS:I hope that when u color,try to cover up the lineart also XDD the lineart is just a guide for u to color..if u could cover the lineart also with colors..it'll bring a much more realistic effect XDD i think u knew this already though XD

ooh...O_O sounds challenging, in an anime aspect, I know making the lines a light grey can make them look invisible. I'm not sure about covering them up, as i've never tried!! (this would be a good chance, lol)
so airbrush...okkieee... When you said changing opacity, doesn't pen tablet pressure automatically does that anyway? Do you use tablet? In SAI there's a "water" tool which is similar to smudging I guess. (Can't use photoshop coz my PC would stuff up. TOT) thanks for the advice!! >_< I'll try my best!

example on how i color the linearts XDD [link] and [link] u won't be able to find any black lines in those art..well maybe some as there are times u need those black lines XDD then again..if u wanna make soft effect..covering the lines are the best way to do it XDD
The tablet pressure does make some changes in the flow of ure brush(yes i use a tablet too)
But as good as how a tablet pressure could help u..u can't be relying on the tablet pressure alone if i were to say changing from "20% to 100%" in opacity XDDD
Sorry i dunno about SAI as i'm a mac user >< and mac can't use SAI..so i use PainterIX instead XD
Anyway..ure lineart might take some time XDD gimme like 1 week ne XDD

the exampls are so good! especially the clothes creases done in "Memories of the sunset love". I'll try to achieve that standard. ^^ Actually, maybe i'll try your techniques with my own drawings before you finish your line art, just as a practice. ^O^
ooh, wow! It never occured to me to adjust the opacity of the brush. O_o sounds really affective! wanna try it out now, but need to draw up a line art first. XD Lucky! Mac!! O_o i only have windows xp.

Owh about the laces..u r going to use the soft cell shading technique on it rite..the one which covers the lineart..well when u r coloring the laces..pls color it by ure own flow and fabric style..i can't draw laces for nuts ><..only the very basics of laces and they look ugly to me..so when u color..try changing the fabric of the laces to any style/kind u want XD u r a gurl anyway XD u know more about laces than me haha XDD
