Really think about it for a moment though. Lightningrod allows Mega-Sceptile to take electric attacks with ease, and with x4 defense against it it can handle electric-types with ease. Also it's useful for double-battles where there's a water-type that sets up (say Bulk-Up Floatzel) and it won't be harmed by electric attacks, instead going to the Sceptile who absorbs it like a tank.

Yeah, mega sceptile is awesome and I don't really know much about it's ability but i'm still going to choose treecko anyway even if it's ability sucks.
