Description Well, back into the fray I go as I try to commit myself to drawing a commission each month.  Not sure how long I'll be able to keep this up, but so far so... mostly good.

I like it: a good combination of decoration and elegant simplicity.


I prefer fantasy weapons that show some restraint in design.

Agreed.  Same reason why I liked WoW starter weapons more than the so-called legendary stuff that not even sane anime characters would wield...

In Guild Wars 2 I've kept a consistent, more down to earth look than some of the stuff out there with my sword-wielding Mesmer for that reason.

If I recall correctly Warcraft 3 correctly, the source material that made me interested in WoW long ago, was far more reasonable than WoW gear.

That's actually something else I like about mesmers in general in GW2.  They're a class that you can essentially RP as not killing anyone.  Sure, I guess the same can be applied to other professions with realistic excuses, but I ended up buying up most of the illusion-specific weapons so it looks as if the mesmer is not wielding anything physical but is merely so powerful that their magic is damaging enough.  Rather than kill their opponent, too, they merely overcome their minds and settle for just rending them unconscious because, hey, I'd like to not be known as a genocidal maniac for a change when it comes to mmo gaming, haha...

I think the biggest challenge is figuring out the dimensions of the head portion of the weapon.  I'm not that experienced with drawing weapons beyond more flat types.
