Description My take on painting architecture after a trip to Italy.

You have recreated a beautiful point of view and the lighting is perfect.

Thank you so much! I tried to recreate what I saw in person and hope it was successful.

You captured the perspective perfectly. The windows are great. The way you drae the viewer to the end is magnificent and the colouring is so bright and simple it makes it the more intriguing. Awesome job.

Thank you so much! I was afraid to draw architecture for a long time (mainly because of perspective) but it turned out to be fun.

I'm always scared to do landscapes, architecture, and anything that isn't more singular in its topic (person portrait, animal, object etc). If this is one of your first architecture pieces in forever than this is even more commendable. The result looks very confident and well thought out. Im glad you had fun. Definitely do some more. Perspective is so important in building-scapes, landscapes, and automotives. It's these subjects that seemingly you cannot get away with the perspective being just slightly off. You can with other things. So super kudos to you hun! Really awesome. Will you do more??

This was my 4th drawing of architecture in several years, but I've been studying perspective for some time before I did it. You're right that in drawing buildings, landscapes and structures accurate perspective is a must. That's why I decided to learn everything first. And I will definitely continue drawing city-scapes. Thank you very much once again!

lovely painting. my dad went to Venice. He showed me lots of photos. He also went to Burano, where all the houses are brightly coloured. I like all the shadows and lighting in your picture

Thank you very much for your comment! I've spent only one day in Venice and didn't make it to Burano and Murano but I still enjoyed the fantastic atmosphere of this place. Now I have a reason to return in future. This street is actually located in Santa Croce.

I have not been to Italy. but I would like to go there one day. I have studied the italian language so it would be good for me to go there. I am a little put off by the large numbers of tourists in places like Venice and I would probably go somewhere a bit quieter.

I guess, there're many quiet yet picturesque places in Italy. Even in Venice when you go off the tourist route the streets are empty and you can only find one or two locals. And it's great that you've studied Italian. I've noticed that people in Italy don't know English very well. They understand just some basics. But if you talk to them in Italian, they would be very pleased.

It's so neat and clean and the shadows are perfect, and holy crap, I love that lamp post coming off the side of the building<3 But really, nice detail work.

Thank you very much for your comment! I'm glad to hear you like this painting. I was actually worried if I had put too much detail here. Sometimes it's easy to overdo things. Also watercolour is a tricky medium, mixing many pigments at once gives you dirt and I don't like it.
