I think I might actually raise the "cringe-inducing visuals" since half the episode made me want to hurl too. On the other hand, there is a redeeming feature in this episode - Shawn saving Jasmine. That's the one thing that makes this episode worth viewing at all, agree?

This is Chris's worst season, no doubt. He crossed the line here (even after everything he has done), and he really gave Sky and Dave a hard time.

I have an alternative name for this episode: Hurl (on this episode) and Go Seek (A better one to watch)

I watched the entire season, I didn't really see any character derailment of note until the finale. I just considered everything each character does as just that: part of their character. Dave in this episode was full-on lovesick puppy, kind of like another (entire list of) character(s) we've seen. Dave, from what I watched, is basically Cody with some of Noah's personality (and aesthetics) with a side of Sierra and a dash of Owen (in the failure to understand love department).
Chris McClean though, is as he has always been, being a jerk on purpose, so I see no problem there. He will always exploit the contestants for drama. Always.

I never got Dave in this episode. I barely understood Sky. And Chris just went too far here and for the rest of the season.

That seemed to be the biggest problem, was the visuals. This might've worked out if they didn't have to eat anything.

This episode is bad but honestly I've seen worse from both this season and it's writer (who in my opinion is currently the worst).
The only good thing about this episode was setting up "Scarlett Fever" which turned out to be the last good episode of the season (despite the Ass Pull in the last three minutes) since "Sky Fall" was shit and the new worst thing in ALL of television, "Pahk'd with Talent" is the new most overrated episode of the entire series, and the finale... Less we talk about that fucking thing the better.

I have seen worse as well from him. But this doesn't get any free passes. "Scarlett Fever" was great, but it still didn't quite make up for this.Β

Agreed, it further showed how everything he's written (aside from the first episode of TDPI) have been complete shit.
I can't even say "Scarlett Fever" was great because those last three minutes really ruin it, but it was pretty much the last worthwhile episode of the season and one of only three that I see myself revisiting from this season.

1) Sky's out burst in front of everyone at Dave is what almost cost her the game (she also became one of my most despised characters for this season because of this)
2) The Vomiting is disgusting (thankfully this is the only episode of the season to do this; When will the joke die completely?)
3) The ones that were deserved to be puked on were Sugar, Sky and Dave:
Β Β -Sugar: She's mean and annoyingΒ
Β Β -Sky: Her out burst againΒ
Β Β -Dave: Going NutsΒ
That image perfect shows Dave & Sky's relationship (better than their happiness). Β Why did they have to ship them? Β They're probably better off seeing someone else.Β

It came out of nowhere, too. Not sure why.
The vomiting should stay off the screen, especially Jasmine at the end.
In this episode, yes, but it is still unnecessary.

Actually, thanks to my upcoming Re-Write, this episode will be scrapped for something else.Β Dave leaving Sky is still there, but in a way that should have happened here instead of the finale.Β And in the finale, something will bring them back together.

The peoples just hate this episode because Sky and Dave were derailed but I don't care about neither of them. I found them both boring since the beginning of the season. I liked the challenge and I loved Jashawn. I wouldn't say it's a great episode but c'mon it's not that bad.Β

Yeah, they were bad here. I like Sky, but I agree with you on Dave. If it were just Hide and Seek with no food, it would've worked out probably.

Terry McGurrin is, without a doubt, the worst writer in Total Drama, even WORSE than Ed MacDonald. This stinker, along with "Lies, Cries and No Big Prize" is what dragged down my thoughts on Dave and TDPI, both of which I've lightened up on recently.

air30002 In reply to HaterAssasin96 [2014-08-20 16:32:22 +0000 UTC]
Terry McGurrin needs to step it up. He has had way too many bad episodes. Even though Ed MacDonald screwed up TDAS, at least his TDPI episodes were decent.

HaterAssasin96 In reply to air30002 [2014-08-20 19:55:35 +0000 UTC]
Definitely. In my opinion, they both have the same number of good episodes (2) which doesn't look very good for Terry.

air30002 In reply to HaterAssasin96 [2014-08-20 20:26:39 +0000 UTC]
That's not too bad for Ed, considering he is gone and only wrote 5 episodes. But Terry has been there for a while and will be back for The Ridonculous race.

My argument for whenever I tell people that Terry is the worst writer right now is that at least Ed was fired while the former is still working for them. I'll even go as far as to say that Laurie Elliott is also worse than Ed for the same argument.
I've started to lighten up on Dave due to some of the info that's been spreading about how the writers studied the cycles of trauma to make it as accurate as possible (I've recently accepted that what seemed like derailment was sadly natural progression). But I still hate TDPI as much as TDAS due to the blind fantard defenders of the former who can't learn to simply respect others opinions! If they would learn to respect the opinions of those who don't agree with them then maybe I would lighten up on it as well.

Good episode count for all three:
Laurie: 3 ("Slap Slap Revolution", "Aftermath Aftermayhem", and "I Love You, Grease Pig!". Everything else ranges from 'meh' to terrible and "Suckers Punched" doesn't count anymore)
Terry: 1
Ed: None (his best episode is only tolerable while everything else ranges from 'meh' to shit).

HaterAssasin96 In reply to JohnMarkee1995 [2014-08-20 20:10:50 +0000 UTC]
"Suckers Punched" was the other good episode I was referring to. I don't really care for "Slap Slap Revolution" because of Leshawna's characterization in it, but from what I remember, "Aftermayhem" was pretty good.
I've already stated my opinion on "Twinning Isn't Everything" so I'm not gonna repeat myself.

JohnMarkee1995 In reply to HaterAssasin96 [2014-08-20 20:20:16 +0000 UTC]
I saw what happened to Leshawna in "Slap Slap Revolution" as being rightful punishment for how she acted in that episode along with indirectly causing Team Victory's elimination in "Yukon" (which nobody ever seems to realize).
"Aftermayhem" was probably the only worthwhile episode to occur during the love triangle BS although it suffers from Blaineley being her usual bitch self and setting up her pointless two episode run in the competition.

I thought her dominating attitude along with her sudden outburst at Heather just came out of nowhere.
Yeah, "Aftermayhem" was good but Blaineley is why I didn't like it for the most part.
