i used a specific combination of ink and paper that doesn't mix easily, and can be easily affected while wet, so i printed ink directly onto the surface and manipulated it to produce all these lovely results :D it's kinda like... drawing with puddles using a stick, if you can imagine dragging water with a stick from a puddle to make dark lines from the wetness on concrete... but instead of water and cement, it's ink and paper ish.
i'll have to show you sometime ;o i want to experiment with it further but i don't know if i can find the resources i used again very easily :/

i don't think so... although perhaps, maybe, just maybe you could combine this technique with some effects and modifications after scanning it in, to make it look more burnt and decayed and aged and stuff? i suppose it might work, especially if you overlay it with the original photo and mask it out...
