You know how she got her independence? Play important until the Emperors give you your independence. Her strategy: "Charlemagne loved me - you have to love me too! GIVE ME MORE RIGHTS" And it somehow worked omfg. Aachen became the name "Kingdom of Aachen".
Another unimportant side note: Only people with high status had enough money to buy dresses in colors like red, green, yellow or purple (which was the most expensive color btw) because of the costly production. People from lower status usually had natural-colored dresses like brown or white.
