Edit: Changed the shade and lighting, thanks to *Twarda8 s advice. Hopefully it looks better now.Yeah, originaly this was suppost to be a practice on painting style on Gimp, but I kinda went overboard with the details, ended up taking me a few days
I'm pretty happy with this
Even though it's still not as good as I aimed for, plus the bushes suck (I may re-do them another time...).But anyway, I wouldn't mind having a critique on this to know what to improve on
Also maybe some advice on drawing bushes and hair XDPS: I so wish I wasn't back at school already

You are not annoying. It's me, being rushed.
You need to gain the knowledge about the light behaviour.
A shade isn't just a darkened local color.
A shade, usually (in atmosphere at least), is a reflection of any other light sources you have aside of the main light source.
I don't feel Sun here. In the lightened parts.
And remebler of color compositions of your pictures. What effect you want to gain? Which colours are the best to achieve such effects? etc.

Shade is a complicated thing to draw DX So is light. I'll have to keep practicing.
I've changed the picture a bit, is it any better now? I know the lighting still isn't very realistic though.

Well... I don't quite remember how the picture looked like back then and I don't feel the big difference. And if that's so, that means it doesn't change much...

When I was painting it, and that was few hour long process so I had a lot time to think, I was thinking about you and what I told you. I know I even exaggerated lighting in the picture to show it to you later. This is what I had in mind in my previous reply.

Yeah, I have both versions of the picture still, and the main difference is that the light areas are just lighter.

No problem, I would criticise it but I think I would need to be really good at art and stuff to do that, one thing I can say is, they clothes looks realistic with the folds etc xx
