Let me tell you.I love Yugioh, in all its cheesyness.
And YES a lot of it was "CARD GAMES BLAH BLAH"
BUT, you've gotta admit, Thief King Bakura - expert tomb robber, psychotic villain, and bare-chested skirt wearing extroadinare (yes, they all wore skirts, but there are a few panels in the manga where his looks slightly shorter... O_O) was quite an original. He made the Millenium World Saga SO AWESOME.
Of course, I was kind of sad that they never really explained what happened to him, because Millenium World was a game, and his fate in real life was never touched upon (see wikipedia).
BUT, anyway, that's way too much blabbing for a few crappy sketches.
YEAH BAKURA!!!

He sounds like a kickass character to me, and I love the way you applied your style to Yugioh, I think it's a nice blend.

Was he ever (*is capable of ranting for hours on him*) - everybody thinks Yugioh was so stupid, but the characters were actually really creepy, neat and twisted - I mean people think "they're just playing card games " but it was actually like, "people are playing games to save their souls and lives from demonic forces or they'll be killed, metally destroyed, or cast into what is basically hell", seriously.
STUPID 4KIDS VERSION (though I loved the voices - just wish they hadn't cut out all the blood...)
I hope it's a nice blend ^_^
I'd like to say that I get some of my style influences from Yugioh, it was technically my first manga - but I don't want to insult Kazuki Takahashi by saying I draw anything like him O_o
I noticed that eerily enough some of my characters *coughHexandMerricough* actually are noticeably similar to Yugioh characters - Hex reminds me of Bakura a lot actually.

I must say when I first heard about Yugioh I thought it was just about card games, that's all you hear it's about though, if you haven't seen it, well, actually I did see one episode, but one episode certainly didn't tell me the plot around the card games :[ -ashamed-
...but then again I also thought FMA was about a kid who could use magic and ran around with his robot friend.
It really reminds of how people view Naruto, a lot of the characters are messed up too. Like, if people were showed Hidan, (foul-mouthed, masochistic, licks blood off his scythe to use his technique, and stabs himself for his dogma) they wouldn't think "oh yeah, that's from that show on cartoon network with that annoying kind in the orange jumpsuit." and there's like, tons of other interesting characters that I could also rant about forever o-o
*sigh* but people only see the orange jumpsuit and the card games.

BTW, am I the only one who was confused as to Yami Bakura's identity? Because a lot of the fans say it's this guy *points* but in the manga Yami Bakura says "I am Zorc" (Me: "EWWW and Yami Bakura was so hot...")

Hmm... Well, the way I see it, Zorc and YB are pretty much the same thing. Wait, actually it's like Zorc controls Y. Bakura and feeds off of Y. Bakura's hatred or something. Oh, the series were so trippy I couldn't really tell! Dx

It was, even in the manga version (never seen the anime ending, I should go watch it online) it was actually quite beautiful on the last page *shot*
Knowing the story and listening to the Millenium World Opening theme ("Overlap") actually gets me emotional *shot again*
