Nice picture of Togepi and Misty.

You know, Togepi really got a lot of undeserved slack all because Misty allegedly got a motherly aspect to her afterwards. First of all, Misty already had a motherly nature to her since the first episode (as Misty expressed concern towards Pikachu after she accidentally fished up Ash and Pikachu and thus saved their lives, and expressed further concern for Pikachu in the second episode), well before Togepi even was discovered, let alone hatched, and second of all, since when did having a motherly nature ever depower her character or make her weak? Even back before Spring 2011 when I actually did care about feminism, at least insofar as helping women get out of dehumanizing situations, something that, use of the term "feminism" aside, I still haven't given up on, I never had any real problem with women becoming mothers. Besides, her temper was still prevalent in Kanto, the Orange Islands, heck, even Johto, and she still showed strength of character even after all that. I mean, I can understand how Samus's character was ruined in Metroid: Other M, but not Misty (and besides, even Samus's character wasn't ruined simply from becoming a mother, as Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion can attest to).

Besides, her interaction with Togepi was at least better than May's interaction with Manaphy (where she literally, and cowardly, I should state, abandoned Manaphy to Captain Phantom late into the film, even when she actually had Pokémon that most certainly could rescue Manaphy if possible, Squirtle and Beautifly are what I have in mind. That's another reason I hated May, besides her effectively being a Hina.).
