  Koshaku is a person who requires 8 hours of sleep or else he won't be able to function and would just mope on the ground. He speaks in a rather soft tone mostly because he is very relaxed and calm. He tends to forget things and is usually very dazed out after he had just awoken from his sleep. He is very quick to fall asleep and could even fall asleep mid-sentence, in which you'll have to shake him to get him to wake up and continue talking.

People tend to think he is shy and quiet but that is not the case. He is rather cheerful and talks a lot when he is fully awake, however his voice is still soft toned so everything he says sounds really mellow. He doesn't seem to get angry and even if he does it isn't really scary but he'll put you to sleep for sure and make sure you oversleep. He is pretty mysterious because he doesn't talk about himself(usually because he falls asleep) and with his mellow nature it makes people unable to predict what he is truly thinking. He is really kind, like a gentle giant and if you ask him for help, he'll do his best to help you out.

He finds happiness in letting people sleep soundly and giving them sweet dreams, as well as getting rid of nightmares that may plague those he watches over. His heart breaks a little if he ever sees someone crying in their sleep because of nightmares or other problems, so he'll stay by their side and give them warmth. He is easily entertained and loves to share his ray of happy beams with people, provided he doesn't fall asleep mid way.

[History]
He was born from the humans desire to know why they dream and their desire for rest. People who pray to him were those who could not find comfort in their sleep and those whose dreams turn into nightmares and plague them till dawn. He lived in the sky a long time ago on a cloud that slowly moves across the sky. When night falls he'll descend to help those in need of sleep and a well deserved dream. He continued like that for ages, and he'll watch over the humans from his small spot in the sky. He watched as eras changed and saw many horrific things that he would shed tears and sometimes cause dreams to become sad. He was eventually given the name 'Koshaku' meaning 'Duke' because he governed over the dreams and to people he was loyal to their prayers and thus deserving of such a noble title.

  His love for smiles and the happiness of people came from when he descended and went for a stroll through a forest one day and came upon a lost child, as children are more spiritually sensitive, the child could see him. Before he could say anything the little girl came up to him and tugged at his sleeves. Koshaku crouched down to the child's height and asked her what was wrong. The child replied that for many days her mother could not sleep well and so to help her mother she came to the forest where there was a rumor of a plant that could help people sleep better; however, she got lost and cannot find her way back. Koshaku noticed that her hands were dirty, perhaps from digging through the forest grounds looking for such a non existent plant. He also noticed that the child's light was not bright,which could be an indication of an illness. The source of her mother's insomnia may be because of her worry for her child.

  Sadden by the fact that he cannot help heal this child, he smiles gently at her and reached behind him and plucked a pretty flower then held it up to the child. " Here, I'll give you this flower. It'll allow your mother to sleep well. In exchange, child, promise me that you'll be strong and no matter what hardship you may face, live on." The child nodded and smiled back then Koshaku led her out of the forest and back to her home. The flower he gave her has no effects of course, so he stayed and allowed the mother and child to have a good nights rest. Years later, he saw the child again but this time as a grown up and seemly to be hanging on and fighting the illness she had. She looks up in his direction and smiles then waves and whispered a "Thank you", he noticed that the flower he gave her was made into a beautiful bookmark and he cried, knowing that his words from that day had helped her.

  His shrine was little but it made him happy to know that people believed in him. When the modern time came, people only unconsciously pray to him, so he'll appear in dreams sometime to keep his existence. One day when he was drinking a lot,he got sleepy and drunk, so he descended his cloud too early and too fast which resulted in him crashing into a high mountain and toppling down to the earth. This resulted in his tendency to forget things and since he could not get back up to the clouds again, he decided that he'll just stay at his small shrine in the modern era and help people from there.

[Additional Info]

- When he is sleepy and about to fall asleep he makes the sound 'Nemu nemu' then flops to the ground
- He can fall asleep anywhere and at anytime and usually it would be quite random, he'll also fall asleep mid-conversation if he doesn't get his required 8 hour sleep.
- The thing around his sash is a little bag to store manju and sake and various other things( Including his eyemask that he wears often)
- He is physically unfit and if you want him to go a few blocks he'll just go halfway then run out of energy and go to sleep instantly. This resulted from him being on the cloud for so many years. Which would make him more likely to be better at using spells through a medium,however he can still do combat just runs out of stamina much easier ( best as a support ).

- To give people a good sleep, he kisses them on the forehead and then he takes out the pipe and waves it around to create a dream smoke for good dreams.
- The cloth around his sleeve can be folded into a pillow or used as a scarf and in a lot of occasions he uses his outer robe as a blanket.
- if he trips over his trailing clothing and hair, he'll just give up on trying to get up and go to sleep.
- if you're not smiling, he'll give you a really air headed smile then point at his own smiling mouth and say "smile smile! its a nice day!" in his soft voice
- He has a tendency to fall asleep right next to the person he helped if he forgets to leave, however unless he leaves the person won't wake so sometimes he accidentally causes people to oversleep.

- He has a sheep and tsuchinoko plushie which he uses as pillows and he really likes to drink
- His feelings towards noras and phantoms are rarely shown, however if they harm people he'll try to stop them. In actual reality, if he could he'll want to help the phantoms too but he knows its out of his range of expertise.
-If Koshaku really had to go out into the city streets- he'll wear a over-sized hoodie or baggy clothing ( although he doesn't do it too often)
- He was inspired by the chinese god of dreams "Zhou Gong" which means "Duke of Zhou"
-Potential voice   The first person that spoke would be his tone of voice roughly up to 0:18- song is chinese but it is a nice song that I listened to while designing him and for now I think the tone of voice is what he sorta sounds like ( Until I can find a Japanese equivalent)
