started collaborating on this image with Scott Jones Photography a bit before the AUS GP - I wanted to do a drawing of Simoncelli because of some his 'aggressive' passing maneuvers but it was kinda fun cuz it reminded me of an earlier N Haga (loved him on the R7)anyhow this initially wasn't meant to be a postmortem tribute piece but unfortunately that's what it turned out to be
Scott provided all the reference shots I needed and then some - saved a lot of time for sure
prints can be purchased on Scott's site ([link] ) and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Riders for Health in Marco Simoncelli's name - Godspeed Sic

Oh, I watched this beautiful drawing several times that just now I managed for make some comment about this :3. The effect with the hair is simply awesome :3. The aspect of the bike and the overalls is also beautiful, so shiny, brilliant... you did a great work :3.
That's a really great work, so full of energy, a really awesome tribute to Simoncelli, really, really awesome.
As most people said, on the moment, I couldn't believe what happened in Malaysia... it was like... "WHAT?!? Si... Si... Simoncelli....?" or something like that, when I just woke up and I heard about the crash and the consequences.
Seriously, you did a really good job with this. Really, really good.

yeah seriously - watched the race live and when I saw the helmet rolling around, first thought was "oh he probably had it somewhat loose cuz of his hair - no big deal ..." really sux
