I was just lying near the bay
just as I would any other day.
The sun was out
bright warm shining pulsing.
A few lost cirrus strayed from their pack
and cumulus attempted to herd them back.

Few thoughts crossed my mind,
or at least not many did I find.
The brackish water of the bay
lapped washed drenched soothed.
I realized it was getting late,
and I began to think about the date.

Oh I wish the calendar would speed along
just as fast as my favourite song.
The clouds above
wandered shifted gathered darkened.
How much longer must I wait?
Or is longing my final fate?

Droplets began to fall from the skyward masters
and the rain started beating faster, faster.
I want him here so we can be
together.
This dilemma will remain unsolved
and the rains around dissolved.
