Actually, Ranma Shadow Stepped into the Hogyoku while it was still connected to Aizen after the two fought one another. Ranma then fused with it and used Aizen's body as a cocoon and burst out of it in his new form. What remained of Aizen's body and soul was devoured by the Hogyoku.
