Great picture (There's that word again 'great'. I should improve my English). I love the rage in her expression. That is a clear sign of a Sith, who definitely has anger and hatred and probably a lot more. The expression shows real rage and you can feel it just by the details on her face. Just how her lips are shaped to her arched frown. Small details like veins on her face, though not overdoing it. Which is good because some do look too much to image of Ahsoka and how she looked like someone who was possessed by the Dark Side in the Mortis Trilogy.
I personally don't see the changes in her face, except for the eyes, Sith traits. But more a sign that she was not herself and that she was under the spell of the Son. Though as a small reveal we have something similar for when Ayanna goes to the Dark Side, but it's more complicated. Can't tell. This was created actually before even the Clone Wars series existed, but enough about her. Back to Barriss.
I really like what she wears. Come to think of it, it would suit Dark Side Ayanna. (hehe I'm such a thief. First Drogon, now I'm scavenging for this.) The texture of her leather really shows and I like that details, because often in some picture you can't tell what kind of fabric the clothes are made of, or it's not as apparent as here in this picture. So the pose (though often used) and the costume look really excellent.
I myself would have retained a little more of Barriss' beauty. The change should look subtle, though that would lack detail I think. So it's a bit of a dilemma, because I do really like the details you've put on her face. Last comments would be on her lightsaber, which lacks a bit of detail. And this is maybe something to work for in the future and that is the lightsaber blade itself and to try to make it look less cartoony.
Over all, once again a very good picture (I avoided to say 'great' there, though I wanted to). I like how you avoided clichΓ©s, because I think other people would try to make her look more beautiful to attract maybe more male viewers. But here you've really placed your stamp on and thought that if you really wanted to show how deep she had sunken to the Dark Side, you had to compromise her beauty. And I like that. It gives you artistic integrity. So that only improves you as an artist as a whole.

Well maybe our opinions just differ on what a lightsaber blade should look like. Although I think the one I made of Starkiller could be more vibrant, I think it should be not asΒ vibrant as the ones you make. I often make sure there's a lot of transparency, not that much in the white center, but in the coloured edge of the blade. You can see that for example it effects the light more in the changes in the OT, turning Vader's blade more into purple and such because it's reacting more on the orange and blue lighting in the carbon freezing chamber. Ayanna especially experimented a lot with light and how shapes respond to it in some of the lightsabers she constructed. They may have been 2d images, but she always tried to make it look like the light would imitate a more 3d shape.

I've actually looked back at other renders and that it is mostly with red lightsabers, your recent work with Barriss on Geonosis for example shows a far more realistic blade. Yellow blades are also better, but still could be a little less vibrant. Sometimes with Ahsoka's green lightsaber it's a bit too virbant often, but maybe you're basing this on the colour she has in the show? If so, you're trying to make a more realistic version, not recreate the show. This should be the same with your lightsaber, not just the character. Well I don't want to sound like I'm lecturing you. Just wanted to add this.

I wouldn't alter the hue that much, but it comes down to vibrance. Remember Sith for example have crimson lightsabers, yours are really vibrant red. I would make them a little duller in colour for a start. I wouldn't change the hue that much, because I wasn't too fond with Vader sometimes having a purple or even pink lightsaber depending on the environment. I think that was mainly a problem with them to improve the blades in the OT, especially when it came to red lightsabers. They chose the wrong direction a bit. They should just have gone for CGI blades rather than to alter them with lighting and other techniques they used to improve. This is not such a problem in the prequels where they were done with CGI and not altered. The colour would still mostly stay the same, but yeah the colour was duller and here's maybe something else is that the edges of the white centre and the blade itself are not very sharp. What I would make the red light transparent the more I went from the white centre to the outer edge. So I would erase a lot at the outside, while erasing less and less as I went to the inside of the lightsaber. But this I only did with the glow. The white centre I just made slightly transparent.

Sorry if I bored you with my OC. And I agree with you, Barriss should not become a Sith for three reasons: TheΒ Rule of Two does not encourage it, She said the Jedi were "fighting for the Dark Side" and probably wouldn't join a known Dark Side cult, and becoming a Sith or Separatist Dark Jedi would be too similar to Ventress's story.
Β
Hopefully we will see her, Ahsoka, and Ventress again.

I had a theory that was quite crazy at the time of the Temple Bombing story arc, that Barriss Offee was responsible. I came up with this theory after I saw the part with Ahsoka and Barriss talking on the holo. I did not want it to be true, but it was.
I also thought that Ventress would return to the order after getting a full pardon. After all, Obi-Wan thought she could be redeemed.

this is a magnificent rendition of an evil Barriss, but truth be told, that snarl kind of un-nerves me somewhat. I would have been satisfied with an evil smile instead

Thank you for joining our SITH-Contest starwars4ever.deviantart.com/j⦠!
My heart freezes!!! Looking at her expression and especially her mouth pulled into a snarl. Dunno, I always thought that Barriss had a very cute mouth, made for smiling nicely, and now this!! Scary!!! And the eyes, simply wow!
We see a partly darkside Barriss at the end of SWTCW, but not like that! This is ten times more awesome! Outfit and all. Somehow I have the feeling that if Barriss really wanted to break with the Jedi order and become Sith this would definitely be the outfit she would wear. Throwing away that nun-padawan outfit and all and going completely rebel and sexy. Like a teenager rebelling against their parents.^^
Also, the textures, pose, lighting and stuff make the work look wonderfully realistic.

I like this picture, but I can't see her becoming a Sith. I think that Ahsoka will free her and they will leave the war behind just like Ventress' original fate. Of course, my Jedi KnightΒ OC, Deron Sedoru, is on their tail. He looks like Xanatos but has brown eyes. During the Clone Wars, he was ordered by Chancellor Palpatine to perform an orbital bombardment on Skalador, a Wild Space world occupied by the Separatists. He did so, but was left bitter and regretful, even briefly joining the CIS cause. Somehow, he avoided being court-martialed(Palpatine made sure of that), but he is still stigmatized by the citizens of the Republic and many Jedi as the "Butcher of Skalador". He wants to find and kill Barriss , thinking that killing aΒ traitor will restore his reputation. To him, it's personal.
Β
I made up his story before the end of Season 5, and his actions only make Barriss' story seem more credible. But Ahsoka thinks Barriss is not beyond redemption, and neither is Deron.
Β
Deron survives Order 66 and eventually joins Luke Skywaker's New Jedi Order

Ahh it's great to see some of my costume parts being used this creatively. I barely even recognized them . It's a wicekd scene also. I love how well the figure and the background mesh together and create an intresting dynamic.

I'm totally surprised by the look of Darth Offee. Her eyes and the hatred and fury she have on her face. Her clothes are fitting as well, dark but full of freedom.
This is awesome! You did an excellent job!
