I'm in the final proof-read and cleanup stage of my fan fiction "The Knight Before The Dawn." The first chapter is ready to go, but I still need cover art for it. The cover art will have many overlaying elements to it that need to be rendered independently of one another. As a preliminary test for the overall look of the cover art, I took Ahsoka Tano's render and polished it over a background. I still need to render the other characters and put it all together. I was just pleased enough with Ahsoka's render that I thought I'd share it with you.

I can't say when the first chapter will be posted. I could plug away for a day or two straight and finish the cover art, but I'm working on a comic currently and my attention is focused on finishing that. No, I will not upload the story and then attach the cover art later. Through my own observations and inquiry, I've learned that cover art is incredibly important if you want your fan fiction to be read by more than a few close friends. It's sad, but people judge stories by their titles and more so their cover art. Good cover art shows viewers what characters to expect in the story and what sort of genre it is. It tells so much. People like getting a gist for the story in just a glance. "The Knight Before The Dawn" is a title that would probably get lost on a lot of people, but the cover image will pull them in by telling them that this is a story about Barriss Offee and how/why she betrayed Ahsoka Tano and who the real villains were in the plot. I think I made my point about the importance of cover art.

Anyways... if you want some clue as to when I'm posting this story, look for me posting a 4 page comic and then a commission. After that, the story is next.
