If the equipped monster would be destroyed by battle or card effect, destroy this card instead. If this card is destroyed and sent to the GY while equipped to a monster: You can Special Summon this card. You can only use this effect of "Unauthorized Device Malefactor" once per turn.

So the basic Union protection, but after that protection fails or it gets popped, it becomes a body on the field. Kinda wish it did more, maybe it'll be a key piece in summoning a corrupt Machina Force.
