Aaaaand wrapping up the painting class for the spring... THIS PIECE!

For those of you out of the loop, the art classes at my college usually have you make one or two REALLY BIG pieces. I got lucky in this class, and we only HAD to make one. The canvas I had to use for this was HUGE, the digital picture does not do the size justice. All rolled up, these things BARELY fit in my car. At least the canvas can fold in half so I can put it in my trunk!

These things are also hard to fill too, I struggled to fill the space in this thing. I'm really happy with how it came out, but I had to come out with new ways to use brushstrokes on the fly here. Every planet had to look unique. New colors, different shapes, textures, every area had to look different. Most of these took several days just to build up! Once THAT was done, the stars and space with much easier. To break up all the black, I added some colored washes. I think that might be my favorite part, it came out so pretty.
