I wish the cats in our zoo would come that close lol. the only time they're right next to the glass is if they're walking around in the enclosure (sounds like a good time to get photos but needs reeaally good timing, which I don't have...), or if they're just lying on the ground right next to the glass (also sounds like a nice opportunity, but IF that happens, their back is against the glass and they're in such a weird angle that you can't get any good pics. then you just end up sitting there and waiting for them to lift their head up to look around for like 3 seconds).
I was at the zoo a couple of days ago and tried to get some pics (with my crappy lens lol...), and those were the kind of pics I took. I did get to see the snowleopards being fed, but the one closer to me kept his head down all the time, and the glass was not exactly the cleanest and smoothest one.. and also the sun was right above us so the lighting was horrible.

so all I got was the kind of pictures that I can definitely use as refs for paintings but are no way near worth putting up here.

I also need to learn more about my camera lol.. I know how to play with the ISO and what it basically does, but there are some other settings I still need to figure out

Not very close when this was taken, though I did get very close! The keeper was standing behind me at one point and the tiger came down face to face with me and was snarling at the keeper! Freaky but amazing experience, I want to go again haha

He was maybe 10foot away here? I dunno, I'm pretty terrible with measurements But he did come right down to the fencing, and because it was a private place I was allowed past the safety barrier so i was almost face to face with him at some times It's the best experience ever
I was the only person who just sat there and didn't back off when he came down (everyone else would back off and be scared even though there is a fence between them) so perhaps that's why he took interest in me?
