Description April 28th, 1963 was the last time a King Ten Wheeler was seen in operation, this being Western Region King Ten Wheeler 6018 King Henry VI.  He was a star of the Western Region, as he was the last to be fitted with Kylchap exhaust pipes and the twin smokestack and the one that took part in the 1948 Locomotive Exchange Trials, for the run from King's Cross to Leeds recreated the scene 23 years earlier when one of the smaller Castle Ten Wheelers went up against Flying Fox.  Here it's full steam ahead for King Henry VI as he storms away from a Western Region town on his final run.  The locomotive had to stop for water, as the water pans for taking water on the fly had been removed from the Western Region.
