The dichotomy of serpent and flora, jewels and silk/velvet gives the painting, for me, a dualistic emotion. Lighting is amazing here, and the warm earth tones complement the overall natural elements presented. There is so much depth and shadowing...elusive feel. The flowers appear to be hydrangea? The colors here are magnificent!

Thanks! Your description is as always brilliant. I collect your comments in a special file.
The snake is my fantasy, of course (I have not such pet ), but flovers are real - I was presented them at my birthday. Hydrangea? May be... I understand in flowers nothing though like to deaw them.

I am blushing and honored that my descriptions benefit your creations (a special file). Lovely birthday flowers that I perceive through the painting. Mmm, the snake, as a pet, a symbol of health and premonition. Alexander dreamed of a snake one evening during a campaign

...she raised him well in the art of love, and Philip raised him well in the art of martial strategy.
