Text-less version!!For my illustration IV class- we had to design a book cover. I chose "Phantom" from the Sword of Truth series. The front is Kahlan, who throughout the entire book is lost and on the back flap (the left) is Richard, her husband and hero of the series, searches for her. I wanted it to have 2 different scenes that meld together to show they are coherent and in the same story while lost and in completely different places.
Hopefully I'll get a photo of this wrapped around the book!

Kahlan's depiction is quite accurate in this. The long dark hair especially. Though I have to say, Richard in this is in fact totally different from his real characterization.

I just love the dept that is in the picture. You have really captured a true "Goodkind feeling", if you understand what I mean.

Awesome work! I just reread Phantom again before picking up the final book so it's really great to see such quality work breathing a touch of magic onto Terry's SoT world. It's beautiful!

great stuff! i think the expression on kahlan portrays her general feeling throughout the whole book, lost and confused with no memory.

i love the cover for faith of the fallen, the last 3 books really had potential for interesting art

I definately agree with you there. "Faith of the Fallen" and "Temple of the Winds" were my favorite covers... but yeah while I was reading Faith of the Fallen", I closed the book pretty often just to stare at the cover art because there was so much soul in the way it fit the story. I'd have loved to see Cara on the cover of "Chainfire" though... she was such a fantastic character in that book.

Oh wow. This is beautiful! I love the style you used, and the rich colours in the background really give this a great atmosphere. The Mother Confessor dress is just the way I pictured it, as well. :]
