Description Kirkstone Beck at Red Pit, a little way below the summit of Kirkstone Pass in Cumbria. The pass connects Ambleside to Patterdale and is the highest pass in the Lake District open to motor traffic, the summit standing at 454 metres or 1,489 feet.
