Personality:
Axel is 100% that uncle friend that will listen to your drunken rants without judgement and fix you breakfast at 2 am. Anger doesn’t come to him easily, even when he has been wronged. He’d much rather understand the reason why someone did something than immediately jump into a rage. People do stupid things and stuff happens; flying off the handle won’t make it better. He would know because he was once that stupid person doing stupid things. However, he isn’t so naive that he ignores the clear signs of a bad apple and tends to watch himself around them.

He isn’t one to keep things secret about himself. He’d rather people take him as he is over hiding a past that shaped him into the person he is now. There are certainly parts he’s ashamed of, but a little shame leads to a lot of character growth (so he says). Axel is an avid comedian when appropriate, finding laughter to be one of the purest sounds in the universe...next to groans of frustration from a pun well executed.

Despite light side of his personality, Axel is a sad and sensitive man doing his best to distract himself from constantly kicking himself over any mistakes, both past and present. He’s very unsure of some of the moves he makes, often agonizing over decisions. He would rather follow another’s lead than his own because he doesn’t want to mess up again. He doesn’t trust himself NOT to mess up again.
Its far easier to do as your told than to think for yourself sometimes, because if things go south..you can at least share the blame with someone.

History/Bio:
Axel was born and raised northern slums to an incredibly poor family. His mom ran a daycare while his dad worked in a machine shop, both doing what they could to help raised their son to the best of their ability. When he wasn’t in school, he spent a lot of time with his dad in the shop and became very interested in machinery.
Being such a sensitive child, it wasn’t lost on him how his parents’ were struggling to give him best they could afford while also trying to make ends meet.
Unknown to his parents, he joined himself to a gang that specialized in the sale of stolen car parts and stolen cars when he was just sixteen. The money that he gained from his participation was brought to his parents to make their lives easier under the guise that he'd found a part time job. Unfortunately, the thrill of stealing from the wealthy and 'giving back' to his community became rather addictive. Rather than attending college once he hit 18, he continued down this path, keeping his parents in the dark about his 'job'. He became cocky, stealing car parts, and even entire cars, repainting them, and selling them off in shady deals. He was proud of himself and his ability to earn so much for his family, despite the dishonesty of it all.
While scouting out for another heist, he met a wealthy girl who practically stole his heart. She was soft, kind woman who was also driven and knew what she wanted out of a man. Interestingly enough, a criminal wasn’t one of them. When she learned of is car stealing escapades, she practically begged him to put that life behind him. Confess to his crimes! She had more than enough money to pay his bail, and then they could have a future together. Though he agreed to the terms, he ...couldn't resist one more job and it proved to be his undoing.
He was caught, tried, and convicted, sent to prison for a total of 6 years for his multiple crimes and gang affiliation. The sentence SHOULD have been longer, but his...now married ex pulled enough strings to supply him with shorter time. She called it a “farewell” gift and wished for him not to squander this opportunity to be a better him.
This entire experience was definitely the biggest wake up call of his life, and he wasted no time cleaning up his act. He found a job at a car repair and paint shop and spent 7 years there working hard and sending his parents money as he always did, trying to earn an honest living. Recently, he heard about a string of recent openings at Sweet’s Factory, especially in the engineering department. The money was good and the benefits were excellent...Perhaps it was time for a career change.

ABILITIES

Powers: Shock absorbent jaws let him bite really heckin’ hard with little effort (around 600lbs of pressure maximum)
Skills and strengths: great with mechanical engineering (especially when related to vehicles), physically strong, fast learner
Weaknesses: slow speed wise, computer illiterate (software is scary), can be guilt-tripped

REBELLION

Why Rebellion?:
After learning that the Rebels would be taking over he Northern Slums (aka, his HOME), he grew concerned about his parents safety. Despite his misgivings at first, he chose to join the rebel cause for the sake of his parents protection. However, after learning the truth about Sweet, he's starting to regret his decision far less. The event has brought him back into close contact with his old gang, the Cherry Bombs and at the moment, he can actually take comfort in his old company.
